Jose Guadalupe Ortega III

Jose Guadalupe Ortega “Papoose” passed away Monday, August 5, 2019 at his home in Burley.  He was born April 19, 1974 in Rupert, Idaho.  Papoose was raised by his grandparents and grew up around his father and stepmother whom he called “Mom”.  He was very close to his sisters Angelita Aganza, Karolina Gomez and Adelina Ortega.  He stayed in touch with his mother, Naomi Ybanez, the best he could.  He was loved by many.  Papoose enjoyed spending time with friends and family.  He loved to BBQ and listen to music.  He was a die-hard Oakland Raiders fan.  He will he deeply missed.

Papoose had three kids, Joey Cantu 26, Stephanie Millard 23 and Jacob Holland 18.  He was a grandpa of one grandson and one granddaughter.  He liked helping and spending time at the OATS Rehab Center which became his second home for him.  He had two chihuahuas, Chita and Oakland and those were his life.

Papoose was a believer in Jesus and went to church off and on, praying constantly.  Papoose went through some really tough times for a short part of his life but no matter how bad it got, he never complained.

A viewing for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2019.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday with a viewing from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., both at the funeral home.  Arrangements are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
