Leah M. Cole, 90, passed away peacefully on Nov. 5, 2018 from congestive heart failure, with her family by her side. She was born in Paul, Idaho on Dec. 23, 1927 to Jacob and Elizabeth (Biederman) Maier. On Dec. 20, 1945, she married Charles Delbert Cole. Their family consisted of Sheryel (Daylon) Stolldorf, Dennis (Jerri) Cole, Vickie Cole and Sidney (Lisa) Cole. She has 7 grandchildren: Jason, Justin, and Jeffrey Stolldorf, Brandi Bauscher, Christopher Cole and Kody Cole; and 2 great grandchildren: Braylee Bauscher and Gabrielle. She graduated from Rupert High School and moved to Boise, Idaho where she attended Lynks Business College. Then she went to work for the Idaho State Capital. Leah loved her farm and enjoyed watching all the crops grow. She watched all of the wildlife that would wander to her yard. There were deer, owls, cats, dogs, ducks, geese, beavers, skunks, birds, and many other animals. She was an avid collector of newspapers and any mention of anyone she knew, she would carefully save that article. She also collected dainty dishes and tea cups. Leah had a sharp memory and could remember dates, especially birthdays and anniversaries. Leah was 1 of 14 children. She was proceeded in death by her parents: Jacob and Elizabeth (Biederman) Maier, her husband, Charles Delbert Cole (war veteran), and siblings: Albert, Alvin, Vic, Erna, Fred, Edna, Reuben, Otto, Ida, Leah, Bob, and Ray. Surviving are Verna (Jim) Cooper and Velda (Dale) Clark. Leah was a life-long member of Grace Community Church. She was a true follower of John 3:16 and displayed Jesus' love daily. She held several offices there as Sunday school teacher, Ladies Auxiliary Secretary and worked with kitchen staff. Leah was a wonderful, sincere person who will be deeply missed by her family and friends. A viewing for family and friends will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November13, 2018 at the Hansen Mortuary in Rupert. Graveside services will take place at the Rupert Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. also on Tuesday. Arrangements are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace Church, Rupert, Idaho. 100 N. Meridian, Rupert, Idaho 83350.
