Carol Jene (Wisecaver) Grosch

Carol Jene Grosch, 69-year-old Rupert resident, passed away at Rupert Memorial Hospital on May 11, 2021, with her children by her side.  

Carol was born on August 14, 1951 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Herb and Juanita Wisecaver. She attended school at Hansen, Heyburn, and graduated from Minico High School. She is survived by her son, Jake (Ashley) Grosch, grandsons Riggan and Riff, Boise, Idaho; her daughter, Elizabeth (Jim) King and granddaughters Marleigh and Haley, Mobile Alabama; her brother Gary Wisecaver; and niece Gail (Craig) Lysne; her sister Ann (Mike) Martin; and nephew Jeremy Martin.  Preceded in death by both parents and stepmother Verneta Wisecaver; her brother Bob Wisecaver and nephew Jason Martin.

Carol was an adventurous soul and being such a free spirit in the late 60’s, hitch-hiked to Boise all by herself. She lived in Boise after graduating from high school and worked as a ward clerk for St Alphonsus Hospital.  She eventually moved back to the Minidoka area. She married Pat Grosch and they had two children. They were later divorced.  Carol lived mostly in Idaho throughout her life, but also spent a few years in Oklahoma, Oregon, and North Carolina.

Carol could always keep an interesting conversation going and shared many good times with those around her.  She was an avid reader and read thousands of books in her lifetime.  She had many friendships and was a member of a local group of friends called “The Bay of Pigs”. They spent many fun times floating the river.  She enjoyed fishing, gardening, river rafting, picking asparagus, cooking, traveling when she could, playing cards and dog sitting for many of us. Carol was proud of her children and grandchildren; they always had a special place in her heart. Her face would light up when she talked about them.  She will be missed by her family and friends.

A "Celebration of Life" for Carol Jene (Wisecaver) Grosch, will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., at the Skyline, 1204 E 600 N.
