Carolyn Glover Obituary

Carolyn Sue Glover (Trent), age 77, of Rupert, Idaho unexpectedly but peacefully returned to her heavenly father on February 15, 2021 at Minidoka Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Carolyn was born April 16, 1943 in Springfield, MO, an only child, to Harvey Clinton and Ladoska Juanita Trent.  She spent time in Ava, MO and traveling back and forth across the country to Washington state where she followed her parents as they traveled doing agricultural harvesting.  She has some fond memories of living in a barn in Missouri where she had a large meadow to play in, although she wasn’t as fond of having to cross the road to get to the outhouse.   She enjoyed spending time with her grandma, Nellie Krider, the hollyhocks were her favorite part of the yard and still one of her favored memories.  She loved to play and visit with her cousins Wanda, Donna and Linda, as they were very close, more like sisters.  She had abundance of cousins and loved them all.

Carolyn attended and graduated from Stevenson High School in Stevenson, WA.  She worked for the forestry service and as a bank teller and settled down in Mill A, WA for several years and raised 3 children.  As we know life changes, she later married Michael Cartwright and moved to the Oregon coast where they managed a beachside motel.  After having child number 4 they moved to Richland, WA and settled there for several years.  Michael passed away in 1981 and she started a daycare so she could work and still be home for her children.  As her children grew up and moved on, she moved to Camden, AR in 1993 where she met and married Jeff Glover.  Together they moved to White Salmon, WA to care for her mother.  She worked for Skyline Hospital as a medical records clerk, a job that she thoroughly enjoyed and was proud of.  They celebrated 27 years of marriage on December 21, 2020.  They moved to Rupert, ID in 2004.

Anyone who has met Carolyn knows that her faith and belief in the Lord was her strength.  She had a deep faith and proudly attended the Church of Christ.  She loved flowers and plants, and especially treasured the ones that were gifted to her by family and friends.  She enjoyed watching osprey, owl and eagle nests on the internet and had a very memorable trip with her son-in-law to Spokane to be with family, where he took her to see one of the osprey nests in person.  She still talked about it years later.  Carolyn loved cats and any baby animal but her chickens were the highlight of her day, she had several that she named that would come sit in her lap and give her all the hen house gossip.

Carolyn is survived by her husband Jeff Glover. Her daughter, Shawna Cartwright (Mark Brosam) of Montgomery, TX, grandchildren Kyle, Drew and Carissa.  Son, Harvey Rist of Spokane, WA, grandchildren Rachel, Austin, Cody and Pearl. Son, Robby Cartwright (Sharon) of Spokane, WA, grandchildren Kristin and Sami. Daughter, Michelle Fisk (Gary) of Paul, ID, grandchildren Curtis, and Joe (Rae), great grandson Ben.  Step-son Jeremy (Jennifer) of Opello, AR.  Former daughter- in-law Jeannie and grandchildren Johnathon, Joseph, and Joshua.

At her request there will not be a formal service but a small family gathering will take place at a later date in White Salmon, WA where she is to be interned with her parents.  Services are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
