Chris Jay Patterson

On Saturday, December 19th, 2020, Chris Jay Patterson, loving husband, and father of six children, passed away at the age of 58 due to a tragic accident at the Salmon Falls Dam. He was accompanied in death by his son, Nathaniel Bradford Jin Pei Patterson, age 18.

 Chris was born on August 22, 1962 in Grand Prairie, Texas to John and Laurene (Budge) Patterson. He had two older brothers and five younger sisters. He married Robyn Jones on October 28th, 1989 in the LDS Jordan River Temple. They were blessed with two daughters and four sons. They resided in Jackson Hole, WY, Rockport, TX, Houston, TX, Louisville, KY, and Burley, ID.

Chris was an avid fly fisherman and worked as a fishing guide in Jackson Hole Wyoming in the late 80’s. He loved camping, exploring the outdoors, crafting wooden boats, and restoring older boats. He enjoyed playing the ukulele, making up silly songs, and especially, spending time with his family.

Chris served as the Director of Technical Services for InspectionLogic, a division of the Orr Corporation. He celebrated 20 years with Orr in August 2020. Chris was an integral part of the world’s leading developer of software for the leak detection and repair industry. He was thought to be one of the most respected and knowledgeable leaders in the industry. He loved his InspectionLogic family and prioritized building relationships and influencing all to follow his example.

Chris was preceded in death by his father, John Patterson, and his mother Laurene (Budge) Patterson. He is survived by his wife, Robyn Patterson, 5 children, Madilyn Patterson, MacKade Patterson, Saedryn Sagers (JW Sagers), Crusoe Patterson, Taggart Patterson, and one grandson, Lachlan Patterson.

The viewing will be held on Sunday, December 27th, 2020 from 6-8pm at the Burley Stake Center on 2050 Normal Ave, Burley, ID. The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 28th, 2020 at 11:00am at the Burley Stake Center. Graveside service will follow at Gem Memorial Cemetery, 2435 Overland Ave, Burley, ID.
