On Saturday, June 27th, 2020, Daniel Garcia, loving father and grandfather, was welcomed into Heaven at the age of 68.
Daniel’s journey began on October 30th, 1951 in Edinburg, Texas. He was born to Teodoro and Refugio (Rangel) Garcia. Daniel grew up in a large family of 8 brothers and 2 sisters, whom he loved beyond words. From Texas, Daniel and his family moved to Washington, and from there to Idaho where he started school. After completing his education, Daniel joined the National Guard and served for 6 years. He returned home to his family in Idaho and from there established his own home. In 1985 he welcomed his first child, Shalae, into the world. In 1990 he welcomed his only son, Shaun, and in 1994 welcomed his baby girl, Danyel. Daniel was an exceptional father and grandfather. Everyone who knew Daniel, knew how much he loved and cherished his children. That same love poured over to his grandchildren, Xavier, Dalyss, and Shyloh, whom filled his heart with so much joy and love. Daniel’s love for his family was unconditional. Daniel worked hard to provide a great life for his family; working throughout the years for Simplot, Union Seed, Ore-Ida, and then McCain Foods where he retired in December of 2017.
Daniel enjoyed many hobbies which included golfing, fishing, hunting, paintballing, and going on RZR adventures. All activities which he did alongside of his children, grandchildren, brothers, nephews, and close friends. Daniel was known for his wittiness. He loved to make people smile and laugh and did so well; his endless bantering was his way of saying, “I love you.”
Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Teodoro, his mother, Refugio, his siblings Moises, Abram, Juan, Abel, Aristeo, Abraham, Juanita and Elvia I, and his dog Ben. He is survived by his three children, Shalae (Justin Gardner), Shaun Garcia, and Danyel (Alex Newman), his three grandchildren, Xavier Arredondo, Dalyss Arredondo, and Shyloh Gardner. He is also survived by his siblings Elvia Gabiola, Esther Rose, Ted Garcia, Chon Garcia, David Garcia, and Sam Garcia, as well as many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much, and his loyal companion dog Axel.
A private viewing will be held for close friends and family.
