Ermelinda (Ortiz) Vigil

Ermelinda (Linda) Vigil, 83, passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, November 18, 2020. 

Ermelinda was born May 14, 1937 in Capulin, Colorado to Antonio and Josefina Ortiz.  She married Jose Amado Vigil and together they moved from their hometown to Rupert, Idaho and raised three children.  Ermelinda was a member of the St. Nicholas Catholic Church.  She loved her pets, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and painting.

Ermelinda is survived by her children Floyd (Joann) Vigil of Salt Lake City, UT., Barbara (John) Parker of Twin Falls, ID., and Patricia Vigil of Rupert, ID.  Her grandchildren Anthony, Lizette, Sean, Lee and Ivy. seven great grandchildren, brothers George Ortiz of Sanford, CO., Richard Ortiz of Somers, MT.,  and several nieces and nephews.  She is proceeded in death by her husband Amado Vigil, her parents, two brothers and two sisters. 

Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at the St. Nicholas Catholic Church  802 F Street, Rupert.  Viewing and Rosary for family and friends will be held from 6:00-8:00p.m. Monday, November 23, 2020 and at Hansen Mortuary 710 6th Street, Rupert and one hour prior to services.  Services are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
