Gary Lynn Cook passed away August 6, 2020 at home of kidney failure under the care of encompass hospice.
Gary was born in Rexburg and raised in Ashton until 1954 when he and his family moved to Paul, Idaho, where his father had drawn desert entry ground. He graduated from Minico High School in 1964 where he lettered in football and basketball and earned the 1st American Farmer degree at Minico High School, among other accomplishments. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and a devout Green Bay Packers fan. He is survived by his wife Gara of 20+ years and “4 regular and 2 decaf” children: Jodi, Gary, Stacie and Travis from a previous marriage, and Robbie and Margie (the decafs). He also has 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents and beloved dog Squirt. His quiet, gentle and loving presence will be greatly missed by his family, his friends, and his big, orange, one eyed cat Chester.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday August 12, 2020tat the Rupert Cemetery
