Irene (Allen) Hurst

Irene LaDiene Allen Hurst, 93, of Heyburn, passed away on April 18, 2021 in Burley, Idaho. She was born July 31, 1927 to John Dean and Nancy Shipley Allen in Ogden, Utah. Shortly thereafter the family moved to Los Angeles, California, where she and her sister, LuJeanne Allen Pond, grew up.

Irene married Harold Robert Hurst on November 24, 1948 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together they became the parents of Robert Dean (Janice), Timothy Allen (Becky), Ricky Glenn (Patricia), and Cynthia (Kelly) Hutchinson. Their family later grew to include 18 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren who will miss her freezer jam, Christmas Eve dinner rolls, Schwan ice cream treats, and the love she has for each of them, as family meant everything to her.

Irene is a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings throughout her life.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 21 at 11:00 a.m. at the Declo, Idaho Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Hansen Mortuary in Rupert, Idaho.
