Irene "Nena" Lemus Obituary

Irene “Nena” Lemus passed away on November 4, 2022 surrounded and deeply loved by her family.

She was born the youngest of ten siblings in San Juan, Texas to her loving parents, Jose and Paula Garza. Growing up as a child of migrants, she was doted on by her hardworking family and raised to be a caring, kind, and hopeful person.

Settling in the town of Paul, Idaho at a young age, she lived a content youth with her parents and loved all the memories she made with her always growing family.

She found peace in her faith as a Catholic, instilled in her by her devout mother and family. Her prayers guided her through hardships and maintained her hope despite how difficult things were in her life.

She brought four beautiful children into this world, her pedacitos de su corazón, and filled them with her kindness, humor, patience, and strength. Her gentle words, warm hugs, adoring kisses, and silly moments shaped them into people she was proud of and loved being around. The immense love she had for each of them was endless, unconditional, enduring, and so full of joy and wonder.

She generously spread her vast love and kindness through the different occupations she held throughout her life. She made beautiful friendships and connections with so many people and made such a positive impact in every role she filled. Her hardworking nature and dedication was an inspiration to her family and to those fortunate enough to have worked alongside her.

She thoroughly enjoyed her early retirement these past few years finding happiness in relaxing, listening to music, going on vacations and concerts, watching movies and her favorite shows, going to restaurants, gardening, going on walks, driving, completing daily crosswords, baking, organizing family photo albums, attending family celebrations, shopping, and spending time laughing and showering all of her loved ones with warm affection.

She is survived by her four beloved babies Lionel (42), Nando (38), Lety (34), and Lonzo (29), daughter-in-law Kelsey, her beautiful grandbabies Isaiah and Eli, her dear siblings Juanie Castillo, Cuca Nevarez, Rey Garza, Santos Rodriguez, Roman Garza, and countless nieces, nephews, and family members that all held her close to their hearts.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Licha, Zaragoza, Eva, and Paul, and several family members she loved and remembered dearly.

She was a beacon of love and light and is gone too soon from our lives but her love will always live through us and in those blessed to have known her.

We miss you and love you, Ma.
