Lyle Ronald Grimm of Paul, Idaho, returned to his Heavenly Father Tuesday, October 10, 2023.
Born on September 30, 1933, in Decatur County, Iowa. He was the oldest child of William
Marvin Grimm and Ruby Venus Hall Grimm. He was raised in Iowa and graduated from high
school there and then he moved with family to Utah.
He soon decided to join the Navy and served in the Navy for 4 years. He then began his career
as a civil servant in the Air Force and retired at 16 years of service. During a time he was in
Utah he was introduced to the love of his life, Mary Gayle Davis. The two were married on
November 22, 1957. They had 5 children and were married for 40 years before Gayle passed
away.
Family was a very important part of Lyle's life. He showed it in everything he did and in how
hard he worked to take care of them. While working full-time and having five children, he
attended college and was able to obtain his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical engineering. He did
all of this for his family.
He was a very hard working man and loved being self-sufficient and self-reliant. He worked for
the Sugar factory for 16 years before he retired. After retiring he started driving trucks delivering
sugar beets to the very factory he retired from. He only recently retired from farming. He
taught all of his children an exceptional work ethic by his example.
He loved playing pinochle, hunting, fishing, camping, taking the scenic route, reading, farming,
and being with his family.
He also enjoyed collecting coins. He collected so many that traditionally on each of his
grandchildren's 13th birthdays he would like to have them come to his home and fill their own
penny book as their gift.
He also really enjoyed investing in the stock market. He tried to learn all he could about moves
he should and shouldn't make and why things were happening and what to expect in the future.
He could literally talk for hours regarding stocks.
He leaves a life long legacy of hard work and service to his family and the communities he has
lived in not to mention the example he set for his posterity who continue this great legacy.
Lyle is survived by his brother Chet Grimm and wife, Paula, daughter Marita Wight and husband
Jay, son Kyle Grimm and wife Juanita, daughter in-law Becky Grimm, daughter Kathy
Rodriguez and husband Rafeal, daughter Tamra Mapes and husband Timothy, 26 grandchildren
and 23 great grandchildren.
Lyle was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Gayle Grimm, his sister Anita Ostler and her
husband Randy, his son Dale Grimm and granddaughter Savannah Grimm. Funeral services  will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2023 at Hansen Mortuary.
