Pearl Fay Hardy was born June 13, 1944 in Rupert, Idaho. She passed away on July 31, 2021 at Parke View Care Center in Burley, Idaho.
She brought up the tail-end of the Lessel and Isabell Hardy family, (Ivan, Dolly, Donna, Don, Irvin, Ernie, Bob, June & Fay).
In Fay's growing up years she lived in Acequia, Lesslie, Mackey and Rupert, Idaho. Fay had a love for animals from a very young age, she loved helping her oldest brother Ivan with his 4-H calves and had many pets of her own to keep her busy. Her mother always knew where to find her when she didn’t answer, she would be out in the pasture with her head on one of her pets fast asleep. Although she had many pets her favorites were her dogs and horses. Fay loved, loved horses! She was a part of a show team in her younger adult years and would also help Ivan with cattle drives whenever she could which she loved.
She had some very pretty horses throughout her life. She was her happiest when horses were involved. She also loved to go camping, and if it included horses, that was the perfect vacation. She loved parades and fairs, and of course her favorite parade and fair entries were the horses. She loved telling you all about what kind of horses they were and what they could do.
Fay graduated from Minidoka County High School in 1962 and graduated from Boise State University with her degree in horticulture in 1972. After graduating from Boise State, she moved to the Idaho Falls / Shelly area where she worked for French's potato processing plant. Although the plant changed names and owners over the years Fay was faithful and worked there until she retired.
Fay never married or had any children of her own but she had many nieces and nephews that helped fill that void. When her health started failing she moved to a care facility in Burley so that she was closer to one of her nieces who could help care for her.
Fay loved to take pictures, lots and lots of pictures! She loved to tease and laugh and just have fun!
She had a Smokey Bear coin bank that sat on her kitchen table and whenever someone would ask her for something or for help she would alway say, “It’ll cost ya a nickel!” And then they had to put an imaginary nickel into the bank.
Fay is preceded in death by her parents; Lessel and Isabell Hardy, her brothers; Ivan, Don, and Irvin Hardy, her sisters; Dolly King and Donna Hope. She is survived by her brothers; Ernie and Bob Hardy, sister; June Lewis and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Parke View Care Center for the love and wonderful care they gave to Fay.
