Penny Lee Shockey was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away due to an unexpected medical illness on November 21, 2022, in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Penny was born September 24, 1962 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Ike and Colleen Shockey, the third of four girls. She grew up in Jerome, Twin Falls and Rupert, Idaho. She was residing in Burley at the time of her passing. Golden Valley Warehouse was Penny’s second home. She worked there for over 23 years and considered them more than just an employer and co-workers.

Penny’s greatest achievement was being a mom to two boys she loved with her entire being. She was grandma to several grandchildren who she devoted her life to after the boys were grown. Penny was loved by all who met her. She had a heart the size of Texas and would help anyone who needed it and even those who did not know they did. She loved being with her family and supporting them in all things. This included road trips with her sister Cindy (a.k.a Louise) to watch the grandkids, nieces, and nephews in all activities. She will be missed more than words can express. Gone but never forgotten.

Penny is preceded in death by her mother Colleen Shockey, son Steven (Ike) Damron, grandson Traigen Carter, brother-in-law Skylar Scott and Grams Gates, who was more than just a grandma, she was a best friend.

Penny is survived by her son and pride and joy Tyson (Britny) Damron, granddaughters LillyAnn Damron, Angelina and Sydney Damron and grandson Braydon Damron. She is also survived by her father Ike (Patty) Shockey, sisters Terri (Mike) Albert, Cindy (Dennis) Burton, Kristi (Mark) DeWitt, Amanda Scott and several nieces and nephews plus her very special friend Roy Jackson.

The family wants to thank the employees in the ICU department at St. Luke’s Magic Valley for their care and compassion and her primary doctor Dr. Jeff Swenson.

A celebration of life will be conducted at 10:00 AM November 28, 2022, at Hansen Mortuary in Rupert Idaho with a graveside to follow at the Paul Cemetery.  Services are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
