Ronald “Gary” Albertson passed away on January 13th, 2021, at the age of 80, at the Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida after a short battle of Covid related double pneumonia. He was born to Merrill and Marjorie Albertson on July 25th, 1940 in Woodville, Idaho. They resided in the area of Roberts, Idaho until he was a teenager and moved to Paul, Idaho. Idaho was always his home, even when he lived in Utah for 14 years returning in 2013.
Gary married Judy Martsch in 1960. They had two sons, Jon and Todd, and later divorced. He married Marie Litton in 1972. They were sealed together in the Idaho Falls Temple for time and all eternity with Ronda and Matthew in 1992. They were happily married until her health failed her in 2012. He had looked forward to traveling in his retirement years. He found love, companionship, and a travel partner with Denise for the last few years. He loved cars, trucks, tractor trailers, and heavy equipment. Gary worked for Kloepfer Concrete for several years. He retired from Lifetime Products in Clearfield, Utah in 2013. He was dedicated to his family above all else.
Gary is survived by his sisters Christine (Ralph) Hunter, Mary Ann (Vic) Engkraft, Kathleen Hendrix, Gwendolyn Catmull; his brothers Billy (Linda) Albertson and Michael Albertson. He leaves behind his sons, Jon (Michelle) Albertson, Todd Albertson, Dean Murphy, and Matthew (Misty) Albertson; and one daughter, Ronda (Kraig) Heiner. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren that he loved dearly including: Alyssa (Ryan) Genther, Erica Albertson, Rachel Albertson, Eric Albertson, John (Ashley) Murphy, Diamond Murphy, Damion Murphy, Kennadee Albertson, Kylie Albertson, Dylan Albertson, Rylee Wynn, Shaun Heiner, Austin Heiner, Landree Heiner, Emily Murphy, Brielle Genther, Brooklyn Genther, and Jaxton Murphy. He also leaves behind his favorite puppy dog Chewy, his wife, Denise Albertson, her children Michelle, Mark, Marie, and their families.
Gary was proceeded in death by his parents; brothers Richard and Joseph Albertson; his wife Marie Albertson; and a granddaughter Jordan Murphy.
A viewing is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2021 at the Paul Cemetery Pine Chapel. A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. following the viewing. Funeral arrangements are being under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
