Ruben Daniel Barrera, Lowman, Idaho 11-03-2022

Ruben was born in Alamo, Texas on June 30, 1957, to George and Julie Flores-Barrera. He was raised in Paul, Idaho where he attended West Minico and Minico High School. He worked at Ramada and Ponderosa where he was a chef and worked banquets. He loved to cook and was great at it.

 He married Teri Gold, and they had two beautiful daughters, Brandy and Sundi, they divorced. He later married Francis Pozernick, they had Hector, Daniel and Brandon.

Ruben became a truck driver and traveled the states, he loved to cook and loved fast cars and motorcycles. He was one of the best drivers in the state, he loved to watch Roy and Jordan race at Firebird Raceway in Eagle.

He lived in Boise and enjoyed it, he moved to Lowman where he was building a log cabin and enjoyed the pine trees, deer and elk and mountain snow until his final days of life.

Ruben was attending the New Apostolic Church in Boise, the mountains became his church and the pine trees his cathedral, he felt peace in the majestic mountains.

He is survived by his brother, Joe-Yoli Barrera of San Angelo, Mary Barrera of Salt Lake City, Gracie (Ed) Rodriguez of Salt Lake City, Lisa Marie Barrera of San Antonio, Robert of Paul, Roy Sr. of Boise. His children Brandy (Derek) Lewis of San Diego, Sundi (Dave) Brown of Salt Lake Utah, Hector (Sara) Pozernick of Sequim WA., Daniel of Honolulu HI., Brandon of Rupert. Fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by John George Barrera and his parents George and Julia Flores Barrera.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2022, at Morrison Payne Funeral Home in Burley.  The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at the Mountain View Christian Center in Burley.  Arrangements are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
