Whitney Marie Maughan

Whitney Marie Maughan, age 36 passed away of natural causes on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at her home.

Whitney was born March 6, 1987, in Minidoka to Tony Bailes and Jodi (Cook) Searle.

Whitney was a happy child.  She attended Declo schools where she graduated in 2005.  She played Alto Sax in pep and jazz bands.  She was on the Rupert Shark Swim Team for many years and showed dogs for 4H.  She was a foreign exchange student her junior year in Germany.  She was a CNA for Mini-Cassia Care Center, transporter for Park View and parts deliverer for Nampa and Crawfords Autobody.

She married Michael Maughan on January 13, 2007.  They had three children Trae 15, Chase 11, and Kynlee 8.  They are the pride and joy of her life.  Whitney and Michael later divorced but remained close friends and maintained a positive relationship for their children and families.  She was an avid reader, loved counter cross stitch and playing Pokémon. 

Whitney is survived by her Children her father Tony (Ruth) Bailes, Mother Jodi (Cordell) Searle, sister Terin (Edward) Bean, Kallie (TJ) Ramsey, Tori Bailes, Tosha Searle, Tyanne Archuleta, Shawniece Searle and Makeeya Searle .  Her grandmothers Mary Lou Roberts and Pattie Cook, aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Minidoka EMS, Rupert Police Department and Coroner for the care and compassion for Whitney.

A viewing for family and friends will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Hansen Mortuary. Interment will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 20, 2023, at the Paul Cemetery.  Please come wearing comfy pants and your favorite hoodie.  Arrangements are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
