Dorrene Lillian Frost Yost, 81 of Rupert passed away Friday January 13, 2017 at her home.
Dorrene was born July 7, 1935 in St. Paul, Nebraska to Fredrick and Agnes Frost. She married Dick Yost August 9, 1956 at the St. Paul Methodist Church. She was raised on a cattle ranch in the sand hills of Nebraska 1935-1956. She lived in Southern California from 1974-2014 and Rupert, ID. 2014-2017. During her time branding cattle on the family ranch her job was to keep the iron hot, a skill she carried through life, always having many irons in the fire. At age 17 she taught 24 students in a rural one room school house. In California Dorrene established an educational preschool with 100+ enrolled. She was the president of the Southern California Pre-school Association. With her husband Dick they built an International Marketing Company "Yost Enterprises"; established "New You" Women's fashion business; and was an International motivational speaker on four continents. She was a member of the St. Paul Methodist, NB, First Methodist, Redlands, CA, and The Springs Calvary Chapel, Rupert, ID. She was a member of Sigma Kappaat the University of Nebraska. She enjoyed world travel, writing poetry, and cheering on her grandkid's education, sports, and careers.
Dorrene is survived by her husband Richard "Dick" Yost, children Michael Yost, Rupert, ID.; and Patricia Taylor, Colton, CA., 4 grandchildren Aaron Yost, Burley, and Michael, Jacob, and John Taylor, St. Louis, MO., 3 Great Grandchildren Cash, Livvy, and Cece Taylor, St. Louis, MO., brother Robert Frost, Mankato, MN., Sisters Itha Yost San Diego, CA., Joyce Klintworth, Overton, NB, Rose Ross, St. Paul NB., and Linda Rassmussen, Grand Island, NB. She is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Agnes Frost and her brother Wayne Frost.
Memorial services will be held 12:00 p.m. Sunday January 22, 2017 at The Springs Calvary Chapel, Heyburn, Idaho with Pastor Michael Yost officiating. Burial will take place in St. Paul, Nebraska at a later date.
