Ruland Terry Sparks, 50, of Rupert, passed away September 24, 2016 at his home.
Ruland was born February 9, 1966, in Rupert, Idaho to Ruland George and Janet Sillin Sparks.
He served in the National Guard. He graduated from Minico High School and the University of Idaho in Moscow. He did his student teaching in St Maries, Idaho. He worked four years at the Idaho Youth Ranch as a counselor, four years as a probation officer for Minidoka County and twelve years teaching at Mt Harrison. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Ruland enjoyed four wheeling, fishing with friends, camping, and loved his dog, Boon.
He is survived by his father, Ruland F. Sparks of Moses Lake, Washington; mother, Janet Linsey and step father, Don Linsey of Rupert; brothers, Tracy Dean Sparks of Boise, ID and Todd Allen Sparks of Moses Lake, ID; and his loyal dog, Boon.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clyde and Wanda Sillin, Rulan Sparks Sr and Melvea Sorrensen Coffee.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Hansen Mortuary, 710 6th Street in Rupert.
