Sheila Jean Johnson was born on September 20, 1965, in Ventura, California. She was raised by Mattie and Jo Yearton and was the youngest of six children. Sheila shared a strong bond with her dad. Some of her best memories were the times they spent traveling together.
In 1989, Sheila married Mitch Johnson and together they welcomed their first child Rachel. They later welcomed Marissa in 1991 and Jenika in 1993. Although Sheila and Mitch eventually went their separate ways, they always remained good friends.
In 2004, Sheila met the love of her life Vance Johnson, and gained two stepchildren, Brett and Jade. They married in 2006 and shared more than 20 beautiful years together, filled with love, laughter and countless memories.
Sheila was a hard worker. She found her calling in serving her community and spent many years as the assistant manager of Cal-Ranch. She enjoyed traveling and helping to open new stores. She was always willing to help others and made a difference in the lives of so many people along the way. Sheila had a deep love for nature and especially enjoyed collecting stones and receiving them from her grandchildren. She loved being outdoors and connecting with the world around her. Sheila adored her grandchildren there was nothing she loved more than watching them grow, celebrating their milestones and being a part of their lives.
She was a busy lady who found joy in the simple things in life. She loved crafting and creating beautiful things with her hands, always finding new things to make and learn. Sheila had a gift for cooking and loved preparing meals for her family. She also loved spending time with her beloved dogs Baloo, Foxy, and Artie. Sheila’s love, kindness, laughter and generous heart will live on through her family, friends and everyone fortunate enough to have known her and loved her.
Sheila is survived by her husband, Vance Johnson; her children, Rachel Johnson, Marissa (Tristan) Johnson, and Jenika Johnson; her stepchildren, Brett (Alicia) Johnson and Jade (Keith) Creekmore; her sister, Joellen Kay Ostrowski, her brothers, William (Victoria) Yearton, Jimmie Yearton, Don Robinson; 19 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Mattie and Jo Yearton; her brother, David (Sharon) Yearton; and her sister, Peggie Elkie.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life on September 20, 2026, more information will follow.
