Steven DeWayne Thomas, 56, of Henderson, Nevada and formerly of Rupert, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2020. He was born September 16, 1963 to Garth Thomas and Joan Glorfield in Charleston, South Carolina. He married Penny Davis on July 5, 1986 and they were later divorced.
Steve worked for 23 years with the Rupert City Fire Department and 18 years as an EMT for Minidoka Memorial Hospital and was a ten-year member of the local SWAT team. At the time of his death, he was working as an RN for a home health and hospice service in Henderson.
He is survived by his father, Garth (Jackie) Thomas, mother, Joan Glorfield; his sons, Shon (Lacey Baker) and Trenton Thomas; three grandchildren, Grace, Bentlee and Krissy; his fiancé and best friend, Donna Morrow; a brother, Keith Thomas and many nieces and nephews. Cousins Steve and Wendy Bott whom Steve was named after . He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his sisters, Janet and Lori.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2020, at Hansen Mortuary in Rupert. Services are under the direction of Hansen Mortuary.
