George Vasquez Torrez, 68, of Burley, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, June 16, 2019 in Murray, Utah. He was born on July 8, 1950 in Brownfield, Texas to Rosendo & Rafaelia Torrez.
George loved doing woodwork including making boats. He also enjoyed fishing with his family, and he loved his two dogs, Gypsy and Bandit.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew James Torrez. He is survived by his son, Jorge Cueller, a grandson Alejandro Cueller and a great grandson Julian Ross. He is also survived by his brothers, David (Rosario) Torrez, Ruben Torrez, Daniel Torrez, and Paul (Deanna) Torrez; a sister, Zulema (Jorge) Esparza and lots of nieces and nephews. He held a special bond to each and every person that came into his life, including all of his family.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Intermountain Medical Center (RICU) in Murray, Utah for the care given to George.Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2019 at St. Theresa’s Little Flower Catholic Church. Gathering for Rosary will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2019 at Hansen Mortuary. Burial will be held in the Pleasant View Cemetery under the direction of Hansen Mortuary.
